All contributed articles must contain novel aspects that will make them worthy of publication. It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain copy right holder’s permission for reproducing previously published material. Previously published figures, tables or components of any article must be appropriately referenced. Articles are submitted on the understanding that all named authors have agreed to the submission.

Submission constitutes an authorization for publication by KAL, on a non-exclusive basis. No compensation is offered for published articles. The articles will be archived in electronic format at KAL database. How to Write and Submit your Contributed Articles

Contributed articles at KAL are an excellent way to evaluate views, ideas, solutions, and expert level for pioneers in Kurdish linguistic fields. They raise your visibility, establish you as an author, and can lead to significant website traffic and new inbound leads. When you submit your article KAL will make a quick editorial, quality review before it is posted on Contributed Articles section. Here are some tips for writing and submitting contributed articles:

1. Write a contributed article that you’d want to read. The key to writing contributed articles is empathy. Put yourself in the shoes of the reader and envision what they’d want to read. Then, write that article.
2. You may submit your article in any common languages used by our callers, such as English, Kurdish (any dialects or Kurdish writing systems), Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Swedish, German, French, and …etc
3. All Articles should be submitted electronically in Word Document or RTF format, using Arial font type.
4. Full contact details of each author should be provided, including e-mails, Department, institution, city and country.
5. Articles must be written clearly in good English. The text must be succinct without unnecessary details or duplications. It is strongly advisable to seek the help of a colleague whose command and knowledge of English would help improve on the clarity, style and presentation of your article.
6. On the cover page, authors should state the type of the article (original, review, letter to the Editor, news item or other) and the field of study (e.g. orthography, Grammar, Standardization, Phonetics and …etc).
7. Articles must include abstracts (no more than 150 words) outlining contents of the article and relevant keywords.
8. The rest of the articles should be divided into logical sections. Original research articles should consist of introduction, materials & methods, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement and references.
9. The references should be formatted and listed in the order of appearance (as articles in the current issue). Most editorial mistakes occur in the reference section; therefore, extra efforts should be made to present them in a consistent format. Reference citation must include the entire author list, year of publication, full article title, full name of the scientific journal, journal volume and journal page numbers.
10. Images and tables should be formatted and submitted separately. Clear and adequate legends should accompany each image. They should be numbered in the order of appearance in the text.
11. Articles written in Arabic script (Arabic, Persian, Central Kurdish) must be typed using Tahoma font, which is standard in MAC and Microsoft Windows based systems.

Authors should initiate contact with KAL Contact Form to get instruction for sending the article via e-mail. In the submission e-mail, authors should indicate the field of the study. The editor will make a decision on the articles suitability for publication on KAL web site. The editor will have a significant in put in terms of improving the style, presentation and language of the article. Once satisfied, the editor will forward a final version of the article with his/her recommendation to the Main Author, who has the final say on the articles publication. Authors who are not satisfied with the editor’s recommendation or final decision will have the right of appeal and should request reconsideration.
